Moreno, Donahoe, Lochtefeld, Riordan Set for Berkeley Rep’s Glass Menagerie

Rita Moreno, Emily Donahoe, Erik Lochtefeld, and Terrence Riordan will star in the Berkeley Rep production of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, April 6-May 31. The production, to be directed by Les Waters, will open officially on April 11.

The show’s creative team includes Scott Bradley (sets), Lydia Tanji (costumes), Matt Frey (lighting), and Peter Golub (music composition). Waters is the associate artistic director of Berkeley Rep, where his productions have included Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer. He won an Obie Award for Big Love, and has directed the Off-Broadway productions of Hot ‘n Throbbing and Savannah Bay.

Moreno, who will play matriarch Amanda Wingfield, has won the Tony Award (for The Ritz), the Academy Award (for West Side Story), the Emmy Award (for The Rockford Files), and the Grammy Award (for The Electric Company Album). Last season, she starred in Berkeley Rep’s production of Master Class.

Donahoe, who will play Laura Wingfield, was recently seen Off-Broadway in Apparition. She won the Helen Hayes Award for Shakespeare in Hollywood and co-starred in the Berkeley Rep production of Honour.
Lochtefeld, who will play Tom Wingfield, starred on Broadway in Metamorphoses. Riordan, who will play the Gentleman Caller, recently appeared on Broadway in A Naked Girl on the Appian Way and has starred regionally in Betty’s Summer Vacation and Take Me Out.
