The National Football League has handpicked Broadway's Rock of Ages to perform on Super Bowl Boulevard's Roman Numerals Stage, located at West 41st Street and Broadway, on Thursday, January 30, to help celebrate Super Bowl XLVIII. The high-octane musical will also perform on Super Bowl Sunday (February 2) during the final hour before kickoff at the official NFL Tailgate Party at the Meadowlands Racetrack grandstand as well as at the Game Day Fan Plaza outside MetLife Stadium.

Directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine, the five-time Tony-nominated Rock of Ages features a book by Chris D'Arienzo and a score that includes hits by 1980s hair metal bands such as Night Ranger, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, Poison, REO Speedwagon, and Journey.

In honor of this special Super Bowl appearance, Rock of Ages has launched an online video contest inviting fans to submit 15- to 30- second videos of themselves rockin' out to their favorite part of either Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" or Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again," two of the musical's crowd favorites. Videos can be submitted either as Youtube links at http://bit.ly/RockTimesSquare or through Instagram using the hashtag #RockTimesSquare. Submissions will be accepted through January 20, after which a panel of rockers will narrow the field to the top five entries. Those five will be posted for open voting. The winning entrant will be invited to join the Rock of Ages cast on the Super Bowl Boulevard stage on January 30 to perform "Don't Stop Believin'" to the football-loving Times Square crowd.
