Signature Theatre has announced that they have been awarded a $2 million grant by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The money has been awarded in support of the Company's Legacy Program and for the creation of a reserve fund as part of Signature's capital campaign for Signature Center, which will be the company's permanent home beginning in late January. The reserve fund will serve to help prepare for the expansion of programming when Signature moves into this new facility.

The Mellon Foundation has been an important supporter of Signature for much of the Company's history. Grants have included a $1.2 million gift in 2005 and a three-year, $1.25 million grant in 2009.
