The musical is based on Moore's children's book Freckleface Strawberry, and tells the story of a seven-year-old girl named Strawberry who is desperate to get rid of or disguise her plentiful freckles and fiery hair so that her classmates will stop making fun of her.

A percentage from each ticket from the performance will go to Moore's favorite charitable organization, Save the Children.
