John Douglas Thompson to Appear in Stravinsky Outsdie Russia Concert

Award winning actor John Douglas Thompson will join the American Symphony Orchestra for Stravinsky Outside Russia at 8pm on Friday, January 20 at Carnegie Hall.


The all-Stravinsky program focuses on works the great composer created outside of his native Russia. In addition to Babel, to be narrated by Thompson, selections will includeSong of the Volga, Zvezdoliki, Mavra, Requiem Canticles, Canticum Sacrum, and Symphony of Psalm.


The program will also feature the Collegiate Chorale Singers with baritone Jonathan Beyer, soprano Anne Carolyn Bird, mezzo-soprano Heather Johnson, bass-baritone Keith Miller, mezzo-soprano Ann McMahon Quintero, and tenor Nicholas Phan.


Thompson’s many stage credits include Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, Lost in the Stars, and The Emperor Jones.
