Cast Set for Off-Broadway's Avow

By Dan Bacalzo • Jan 30, 2009 • New York City
Casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway revival of Bill C. Davis' Avow, to be presented by the Cardinal Group at the 45th Street Theatre, February 19-March 8, with an opening set for February 25. Jerry Less will direct.

In the play, a gay male couple asks their liberal parish priest to witness and bless their vows to each other. While sympathetic, he stresses that they must live a celibate life if they wish to be part of the Church. However, the priest's own attraction to one of the men's sister forces him to reexamine his own life.

The cast will include Elizabeth Bove, Jaron Farnham, Joy Franz, Christopher Graham, Kate Middleton, Timothy Sekk, and Jeremiah Wiggins. The creative team will include Stephanie Tucci (set), Emily Lippolis (costumes), and Chris Weston (lighting).
