Teen idol Ashley Parker Angel will make his Broadway debut as Link Larkin in Hairspray on Friday, January 19, replacing Aaron Tveit in the role.

Also set to join the cast of the show on that date is Brynn O’Malley as Amber Von Tussle; and Susan Mosher will join the company as the Female Authority Figure on Tuesday, January 16. They will replace Tara Marci and Lisa Jolley, respectively.

Angel starred on the ABC series Making the Band, which chronicled the formation of his multi-platinum recording group O-Town, most widely recognized for the smash hit “All or Nothing.” He has also appeared in his own MTV series There and Back and last year released the solo album Soundtrack to Your Life, which featured the hit single, “Let You Go.”

Hairspray also stars Shannon Durig as Tracy, Blake Hammond as Edna, Diana DeGarmo as Penny, Stephen DeRosa as Wilbur, Darlene Love as Motormouth Maybelle, Tevin Campbell as Seaweed, and Jonathan Dokuchitz as Corny Collins.
