On February 6, the Drama Desk will present its first panel discussion of the year. The topic is “Today’s Musical Adaptations: The Value of Relevance” and the panelists will include Flower Drum Song book writer David Henry Hwang, Debbie Does Dallas author/adapter Erica Schmidt, and Nine co-creator Mario Fratti.

Co-moderated by Drama Desk executive committee members Charles Wright (a TheaterMania contributor) and Ellis Nassour, the event will take place at BMI, located at 320 West 57th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, from 5:45 to 7:30pm. A light supper will be served before the discussion begins.

Because seating is limited, reservation priority will be given to Drama Desk members; interested non-members may leave a message by phoning 212-978-0213 and will be contacted if seating is available. Admission is $5.

The Drama Desk is a non-profit association of critics, reporters, editors, and publishers covering the New York theater.
