Nilo Cruz World Premiere on Tap for McCarter Theatre Center

The McCarter Theatre Center has announced its 2016-17 season.

The theater will present the world premiere of Nilo Cruz's new play, Bathing in Moonlight, September 9-October 9. Emily Mann will direct the production, which reunites her and Cruz for the first time since their collaboration on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Anna in the Tropics.

Next up, October 11-30, is Ayad Akhtar's Disgraced, directed by Marcela Lorca. It is presented in association with the Guthrie Theater and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by David Thompson and directed by Adam Immerwahr, will run from December 9-31.

Bedlam Theatre Company will come to the McCarter with its acclaimed rotating repertory productions of Hamlet and Saint Joan, directed by Eric Tucker. The productions run from January 13-February 12. From March 14-April 2, the world premiere of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, adapted by Ken Ludwig, will be presented under the direction of Emily Mann.

The season will conclude with Jade King Carroll's production of Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, running from May 5-June 4.
