The company's first offering will be The Marvelous Wonderettes, to run June 8-25. The show, to be directed by Chan Harris, centers on four young women who find themselves unexpectedly singing at their high school prom and includes such hits at "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Stupid Cupid," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "It's My Party," and "It's In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)." The company will feature Brittney Morello, Lara Seibert, Danielle Erin Rhodes, and Morgan Smith.
Marc Robin will direct and choreograph the theater's next two offerings: Annie (June 29 - July 16), Thomas Meehan, Martin Charnin, and Charles Strouse's musical take on the character Little Orphan Annie, and Douglas Carter Beane, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar's campy mythological romp, Xanadu (July 20 - August 6).
The MSMT 2011 season will conclude with The Wiz (August 10-27), Charles M. Smalls and William F. Brown's updated version of The Wizard of Oz, to be directed by Donna Drake and featuring choreography by Mark Stuart.
