Sean Penn presented the 2011 Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement to Hal Holbrook at the Actors Fund’s 15th Annual Tony Awards Party in Los Angeles, held at the Skirball Center on Sunday, June 12. Marilu Henner hosted.
Martin Sheen spoke at the fundraising gala, while Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell performed “Dulceina” from Man of La Mancha for Holbrook in memory of his wife, actress Dixie Carter, who died last year. This year’s program was written and produced by David Rambo, and directed by John Holly.
Among those who attended the gathering, which featured the only approved live feed of the Tony Awards as they happened in New York, were Orson Bean, Ian Buchanan, Maxwell Caulfield, Emrhys Cooper, Patrika Darbo, Ramon Estevez, Davis Gaines, Dick Gautier, Ilene Graff, Richard Herd, Anne Jeffreys, Ruta Lee, Lee Meriwether, Alley Mills, Juliette Mills, Linda Purl, Stefanie Powers, Holland Taylor and Barbara Van Orden.
