Dawnn Lewis, Courtney B. Vance Set for Disney Channel’s Let It Shine Movie

Stage veterans Dawnn Lewis and Courtney B. Vance will co-star with Tyler James Williams, Coco Jones, Trevor Jackson, Alex Desert, and Nicole Sullivan in the Disney Channel movie Let It Shine, which will premiere on Friday, June 15 at 8pm, according to TVGuide.com.
The film, directed by Paul Hoen and written by Eric Daniel, stars Williams as Cyrus DeBarge, who writes a song for childhood friend and teen pop star Roxanne “Roxie” Andrews (Jones), which is mistakenly attributed to his best friend Kris (Jackson).
Walt Disney Records will also release a soundtrack timed to the movie’s airing.
