The Geffen Playhouse Story Pirates are to present Brilliance!, the kid-friendly companion show to Alan Alda’s world premiere Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie, in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater, November 12-December 10.

Brilliance! will take audiences on a fast-paced, interactive, and funny exploration of Madame Curie’s radioactive discoveries, which made her the first woman ever to win a Nobel Prize. Recommended for children ages 5 to 11, Brilliance is intended for families and anyone who could use a laugh while learning about the mysteries of the universe and the brilliance of Marie Curie.

The Geffen Playhouse began its Story Pirates partnership in 2009 as a way to expand the resources of the theater’s current in-school initiatives. Story Pirates, which was originally founded in New York in 2003, is a nationally recognized arts and literacy organization, working to engage students in under-resourced public schools by showing them that their ideas, words, and stories are important.
