Danny Elfman Set for Live Appearance at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre October 21

Grammy and Emmy winner and four-time Oscar nominee Danny Elfman will make a live appearance at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre on Thursday, October 21 at 7pm, in conjunction with the venue’s screenings of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Elfman will premiere special Nightmare bonus material from the soon-to-be-released Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box. This library of 16 CDs each packaged with artwork by Burton, contains over 19 hours of music from all 13 films Burton/Elfman films including seven hours of previously unreleased music rarities including Nightmare score extensions, additional masters, cut songs, song demos, work tapes, orchestra-only song mixes, and foreign-language songs.

Among Elfman’s many film scores are Spider-Man, Good Will Hunting, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Men in Black, Edward Scissorhands, Midnight Run, Dick Tracy, Mission: Impossible, Chicago, and Milk. He is also known for the classic television themes to The Simpsons and ABC’s Desperate Housewives. As previously reported, he will serve as composer and musical director for Cirque du Soleil’s new show, Iris, which will have its world premiere at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre in Summer 2011.
