Maxwell Caulfield, Rachel Sorsa to Star in The Getty’s Helen

The Getty Museum and Playwrights’ Arena has announced casting for its previously announced production of Nick Salamone’s new adaptation of Euripides’Helen, running Spetember 6-29 at the Getty Villa‘s outdoor Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater. Artistic director of L.A.’s Playwrights’ Arena Jon Lawrence Rivera will direct, with musical direction and original score by David O.

In Helen, Euripides’ heroine is no wanton seductress, but rather a faithful wife and innocent victim of Olympian plots.

The cast will be led by Rachel Sorsa in the title role and Maxwell Caulfield as Menelaos and will also feature Chil Kong (Theoclymenus), Natsuko Ohama (Theonoe), and Carlease Burke (Hattie) as well as Melody Butiu, Arséne DeLay, Jayme Lake, Robert Almodovar, and Christopher Rivas.
