Jon Tenney to Join Ryan Reynolds, Angela Bassett, Peter Sarsgaard In Green Lantern Movie

Stage and screen veteran Jon Tenney will join the previously announced Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Blake Lively, and Angela Bassett in the movie Green Lantern, according to a report in Variety. Tenney will be play the father of the title character (played by Reynolds).

Martin Campbell is directing the film, which is based on the DC Comics superhero. The script is by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green, with rewrites by Michael Goldenberg.

Tenney starred on Broadway in The Heiress, and his other stage credits include Tartuffe, The Substance of Fire, and The Real Thing. He currently co-stars on TNT’s The Closer and appeared last season on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. He will also appear in the upcoming film version of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Rabbit Hole.
