Wayne Brady, Whoopi Goldberg, Brian Kerwin, Martin Short, Bree Williamson, et al. Nominated for 2011 Daytime Emmys

The nominees for the 38th annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards have been announced. CBS will broadcast the awards ceremony live from the Las Vegas Hilton on June 19, with Wayne Brady as host.

Brady is also Emmy-nominated as Outstanding Game Show Host for his work on Let’s Make a Deal. Outstanding Talk Show Host nominees include a joint nomination for The View‘s Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, and Broadway producer and veteran actress Whoopi Goldberg.

Theater veterans who have received acting nominations include Ricky Paull Goldin (All My Children), Brian Kerwin (One Life to Live), Michael Park (As the World Turns), Heather Tom (The Bold and the Beautiful), Bree Williamson (One Life to Live), and Colleen Zenk (As the World Turns). Martin Short has received a nomination for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for his work in the title role of PBS’ The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!

Bill Sherman, who won a Tony for his orchestrations for In the Heights, is nominated as composer, along with lyricist Chris Jackson, for the song “What I Am” on Sesame Street. Willie Reale — whose musical theater works include The Year of Frog and Toad and Johnny Baseball — is nominated as the Head Writer for PBS’ The Electric Company.

Outstanding Drama Series nominees include All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless. Among the nominees for Outstanding Special Class Special are the NBC Broadcast of the 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Jon Stewart-Stephen Colbert-hosted The Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear on Comedy Central.

In addition, it has been announced that game show hosts Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek will recieve Lifetime Achievement Awards for their respective work on Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!
