Beau Bridges will play Arvide Abernathy in the Hollywood Bowl's fully-staged concert adaptation of Guys and Dolls, to be presented July 31-August 2. Richard Jay-Alexander will direct.

The show combines the color and pizzazz of Damon Runyon's legendary musical comedy characters with Frank Loesser's dazzling score.

The cast also includes Ken Page (Nicely-Nicely Johnson), Ruth Williamson (General Matilda Cartwright), Herschel Sparber (Big Jule), Jason Graae (Benny Southstreet), Bill Lewis (Harry the Horse), Danny Stiles (Rusty Charlie), Amir Talai (Angie the Ox/Joey Biltmore), Jody Ashworth (Lt. Brannigan), Cindy Benson (Agatha), Grace Wall (Martha), and as the Hot Box Girls: Sandahl Bergman, Valarie Pettiford, Jane Lanier, Kathryn Wright, Jillana Laufer, and Tracy Powell.

The creative team will include Kevin Stites (musical director and conductor), Donna McKechnie (choreographer), Evan Bartoletti and Lisa Lechuga (set designers), Tom Ruzika (lighting designer), and Tommy Marquez (costume designer).

As previously reported, Singer Josh Groban and opera diva Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame on June 19, while other highlights of the Bowl's 2009 summer season will include Liza Minnelli performing with her own band and dancers (August 28 and 29); Jessye Norman featured in Emmy Award-winning composer Laura Karpman's Ask Your Mama along with Nneena Freelon and the Roots (August 30); Grace Jones headlining her first live performance in Los Angeles in over 20 years, hosted by Henry Rollins (July 26); Monica Mancini in Ultimate Mancini!, celebrating the music of multiple Oscar and Grammy winner Henry Mancini (July 10-11); Natalie Cole (July 15); The Philip Glass Ensemble (July 23); Michael Feinstein and Jewel in The Art of the Song (July 24-25); Bramwell Tovey conducting the music of Leonard Bernstein (August 18); Patti LaBelle (August 19); and Sing-A-Long Sound of Music (September 26).
