Harry Shum Jr., George Takei, Tamlyn Tomita, et al. Set for East West Players Benefit

East West Players will celebrate its 45th Anniversary with its Visionary Awards Dinner & Silent Auction, which will take place at the Hilton Universal City at 6pm on Monday, May 2.


The event will salute those who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community through their artistic excellence and support of the Asian Pacific American performing arts and will raise funds for the East West Players’ educational and artistic programs. James Kyson Lee and Tamlyn Tomita will be co-emceeing the event.

Harry Shum Jr., who plays Mike Chang on FOX’s Glee, Michael Hagiwara, and Bank of America will be honored at the benefit.

Performers will include Joan Almedilla, Laurie Cadevida, The Three Filipino Tenors (Antoine Reynaldo Diel, Randy Guiaya, Lito Villareal), and Nathan Wang and the 45th Anniversary Orchestra; while presenters will include Dante Basco, Karin Anna Cheung, John Cho, Rodney Kageyama, George Takei, and Aaron Takahashi.
