American Idol‘s Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard will launch a national tour on July 23 with a concert at the Biltmore Estates in Asheville, NC. The 17-city tour will then take the show, entitled Timeless, to such venues as New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, LA Nokia Live in Los Angeles, and Pennsylvania’s American Music Theater.

The concerts will mark the first time the two artists will tour together and will feature their renditions, both duets and solos, of classic hits from the past five decades.

Aiken was seen on Broadway in Monty Python’s Spamalot, playing the role of Sir Robin. Since appearing on the FOX-TV reality series, he has released numerous albums, including A Thousand Different Ways and Measure of a Man and co-authored a best-selling book Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life.

Studdard starred in the national tour of Ain’t Misbehavin’ and has a number of recordings to his credit, including the Grammy Award-nominated recording of the show, as well as Soulful, I Need an Angel, and The Return.
