Kristin Chenoweth, Shirley Jones, Matthew Modine et al. Set for Family Weekend Film

Broadway veterans Kristin Chenoweth, Shirley Jones, and Matthew Modine will be featured in the upcoming film comedy Family Weekend, according to a report in Variety.

Benjamin Epps will direct the movie, which features a script by Matt K. Turner. It centers around a 16-year-old girl who takes her parents hostage. The cast will also include Eddie Hassell, Joey King, and Olesya Rulin.

Chenoweth recently wrapped up a Broadway run in Promises, Promises. She won a Tony Award for her performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and received a Tony nomination for Wicked. She received the Emmy for her work on Pushing Daisies and has been seen as April Rhodes on the FOX series Glee, for which she has received an Emmy nomination.

Jones has appeared on Broadway in 42nd Street, Maggie Flynn, and South Pacific, and is best known for her work on The Partridge Family.

Modine most recently appeared on Broadway in The Miracle Worker. He has appeared in numerous films, and received Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations for What the Deaf Man Heard and And the Band Played On.
