Gemma Arterton to Join Jeremy Renner in Hansel & Gretel Film

Stage veteran Gemma Arterton will join Jeremy Renner, to star as the title characters in the forthcoming Paramount film, Hansel & Gretel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Tommy Wirkola is set to direct the film, which aims to begin shooting in Berlin in March.

The action movie features adult versions of the popular fairytale characters, who have now become bounty hunters.

Arterton is currently starring in the Almeida Theatre’s production of Henrik Ibsen’s The Master Builder in London, and also appeared last year in the West End production of The Little Dog Laughed. She is best known for her film roles, including the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Clash of the Titans.
