The rock ‘n’ roll compilation musical Dreamboats and Petticoats will begin performances at the West End’s Playhouse Theatre on January 6. Bob Tomson has directed the production which recently concluded a run at the Savoy Theatre.

The stage musical, with book by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, takes inspiration from the compilation album series of the same name and focuses on two young musicians who are competing to win the hearts of their adoring female fans. Among the songs included in the show are: “Let’s Dance”, “To Know Him Is to Love Him”, “Shaking All Over”, “Bobby’s Girl”, “Three Steps to Heaven”, “Little Town Flirt”, “Only Sixteen”, “Runaround Sue”, “Happy Birthday Sweet 16”, “Let It Be Me”, “Great Pretender”, “C’mon Everybody,” and “Let’s Twist Again”.

The creative team includes Carole Todd (choreography), Sean Cavanagh (production design), Mark Howett (lighting design), and Ben Harrison (sound design).
