Sir Ian McKellen, Kelly Macdonald, and Benjamin Zephaniah are scheduled to perform at The People Speak, to be offered on Sunday, September 19 at the Prince of Wales Theatre, according to a report in The Stage. Colin Firth will host the event, which will benefit The Prince’s Trust and will be taped for broadcast on the U.K. History channel on October 31.

The event is inspired by historian Howard Zinn’s Voices of a People’s History of the United States, which examined American history through the prism of individuals working against the status quo. The U.K. The People Speak will examine suffrage, colonialism, and ecological sustainability in Britain.

The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives, by giving practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation.
