Jill Van Velzer will play the title role in God Save Gertrude, Deborah Stein's play with songs, to run October 1-November 11 at The Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena. Michael Michetti will direct the production.

God Save Gertrude is a punk rock riff on Hamlet, which features original music by David Hanbury, who has collaborated with Stein on lyrics. The company will also feature Steve Coombs, Troian Bellisario, and James Horan. The creative team includes Rob Oriol (musical director and sound design), Susan Gratch (scenic design), Soojin Lee (costume design), Steven Young (lighting design), and Jason H. Thompson (video design).
