London's Gate Theatre will stage the UK premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner Bruce Norris' early play Purple Heart, February 28-April 6, under the direction of Christopher Haydon.

Set in the American Midwest in 1972, the work focuses on a woman trying raise her son and rebuild her life following the death of her husband in the Vietnam War. The work premiered in 2002 at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

The Gate's season will also include Dominique Morisseau's Sunset Baby (September 13-October 20) and Caroline Bird's new adaptation of Euripides' The Trojan Women, also directed by Haydon (November 8-December 15).
