Royal Court Announces New Theatre Local Series

The Royal Court Theatre has announced the lineup for its Theatre Local series, a new program that will offer a season of plays in an unused store in the Elephant and Castle shopping center. The series will get underway with a staging of Debbie Tucker’s Random, to run March 3-27.

Also on the schedule are transfers of three productions from the current season in the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs: Anupama Chandrasekhar’s Disconnect (March31 – April 3), DC Moore’s The Empire (June 2-5), and Anya Reiss’ Spur of the Moment (August 25-28).

The performances in this venue will feature minimal scenic elements and lighting design and ticket prices will be kept low, with the first performance of each run being ‘pay what you can.’
