Tony Award winner Judy Kaye and Donald Corren will reprise their Broadway performances in Souvenir, a Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins at the Geva Theatre Center. This first production in the theater’s 2009-2010 season will run September 8 – October 4.

Souvenir, by Stephen Temperley, relates the true story of Jenkins, a Manhattan socialite, who would give regular recitals at the Ritz-Carlton in New York and her audiences adored her – primarily for the amusement she provided rather than her musical ability. She ultimately rented Carnegie Hall and the performance sold out weeks in advance.

Souvenir will be directed by Vivian Matalon who staged the work in New York. The creative team for the Geva production also includes the complete Broadway design team of scenic designer R. Michael Miller, costume designer Tracy Christensen, lighting designer Ann Wrightson, and sound designer David Budries.
