Florida Studio Theatre has announced plans for its upcoming 2011-2012 mainstage and cabaret seasons.
The mainstage season’s first production will be Brian Yorkey’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal, November 2-January 2. Then, Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro’s latest work The Last Romance will be presented December 7-February 12. Next Fall, the Outer Critics Circle award-winning love story about belief by Geoffrey Nauffts will be on the mainstage from January 25-March 25. The season will close with the world premiere of Jack Canfora’s Jericho, April 4-June 3, a play about A 9/11 widow and a 9/11 survivor whose lives quickly become entangled.
FST’s cabaret season will include That’s Life, Again, October 12-January 1, a journey to the supper clubs of the 50s and 60s. From January 4-March 25, the early days of rock and roll will come alive with Shake, Rattle, and Roll. Finally, the cabaret season will culminate with great American movie music in Reel Music, March 28-June 3.
