Ford's Theatre Announces 2009-2010 Season

By Dan Bacalzo • Mar 26, 2009 • Washington, DC
Ford's Theatre has announced selections for its 2009-2010 season, which will kick off with Black Pearl Sings! (September 25-October 18), written by Frank Higgins, and directed by Jennifer L. Nelson, about a song collector for the Library of Congress and an inmate in a Texas prison.

Michael Baron will direct A Christmas Carol (November 23-January 3), adapted by Michael Wilson from Charles Dickens' famous story. Next up will be The Rivalry (January 22-February 14), by Norman Corwin, directed by Mark Ramont, about the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

The season will conclude with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's musical, Little Shop of Horrors (March 12-May 23) -- about an alien man-eating plant and the well-meaning flower shop employee who discovers it -- to be directed by Coy Middlebrook.
