John Douglas Thompson to Join Kate Mulgrew in Antony and Cleopatra at Hartford Stage

Obie Award winner John Douglas Thompson will star opposite the previously announced Kate Mulgrew in Hartford Stage’s Antony and Cleopatra, to run October 7 – November 7. Tina Landau will direct the production.

Thompson is a Drama Desk nominee for his performance in The Emperor Jones and is currently appearing opposite Dianne Wiest in Classic Stage Company’s production of The Forest. Later this year, he will star as Richard III at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA.

The actor won a 2009 Obie Award for his performance in Othello. Among his other stage credits are Cyrano de Bergerac and Julius Caesar on Broadway. In addition to his theater work, Thompson’s TV and film credits include Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Conviction, Midway, and Michael Clayton.
