The play focuses on a man's return to his family's summer home. Gurney's many other plays include The Dining Room, Sylvia, and The Cocktail Hour.

The creative team includes James Noone (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Rui Rita (lighting), and Scott Killian (sound). Tillinger received a Tony Award nomination for directing Loot and was last represented on Broadway by a revival of Absurd Person Singular.
