Doug Wright to Join Yale School of Drama Faculty; Paula Vogel Takes Leave of Absence

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright will join the Yale School of Drama faculty as a Lecturer in Playwriting for the fall 2010 semester.

Wright’s primary responsibilities will be to lead the weekly Playwriting Workshop and to mentor students in the program. The playwright won the Pulitzer , Tony and other honors for I Am My Own Wife, and was also Tony-nominated for the book to the musical Grey Gardens.

In related news, Paula Vogel, the Eugene O’Neill Chair of the Playwriting Department, will take a one-semester leave of absence in the fall to work on a new play. In her absence, Kenneth Prestininzi will serve as Acting Chair. Vogel won the Pulitzer for How I Learned to Drive.
