Hershey Felder and Peter Gallagher will both be appearing at Chicago’s Drury Lane Water Tower Place later this year. Felder will be bringing all three of the plays in his “composer trilogy” to Drury Lane, performing them in repertory from November 13 – December 30. Gallagher will be performing in his solo musical, Peter Gallagher, Don’t Give Up on Me at the theater on Sunday and Monday night’s during a portion of Felder’s engagement.

While at the Drury Lane, Felder will perform not only George Gershwin Alone and Monsieur Chopin, works that he’s previously performed in Chicago, but also Beethoven, As I Knew Him, a dramatization of a little-known story about the maestro that was told in 1870, forty-three years after Beethoven’s passing by a person who was by the composer’s side during his last years. In Beethoven, as well as Gershwin and Chopin, Felder combines his acting, piano and musical analytical skills to bring his composer subjects to life. Felder’s Chicago performances of these three pieces will be filmed for New York’s Razor and Tie Music Company for television broadcast and world-wide release.

Gallagher’s show features song selections from Pal Joey, Guys and Dolls, and songs by Cy Coleman, Lyle Lovett, Burt Bacharach and others to tell the story of an actor’s apprenticeships with the legends he admires: James Cagney, Jack Lemmon, Peter O’Toole, Stubby Kaye and more. Gallagher will perform Don’t Give Up on Me from November 22 – December 14, prior to taking the piece on a national tour.
