Teatro Vista has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will open with Quiara Alegira Hudes’ 26 Miles, to run October 20 – November 21. Tara Mallen will direct this play about a woman and her estranged daughter who embark on a road trip across the country.

The theater’s season will also include the world premiere of Jennifer Barclay’s Freedom, NY (March 23-April 17), featuring Cheryl Lynn Bruce. Joe Minoso will direct the piece about a young girl and her grandmother and the ways in which the two have coped after a violent incident at the girl’s school

Cecille Keenan will direct the third production in the season: Tanya Saracho’s El Nogalar, which is set in present-day Mexico and loosely based on Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard (dates to be announced).
