Broadway in Chicago Announces 2012-2013 Subscription Series

Broadway in Chicago has announced the productions set for its 2012-2013 subscription series.

The first offering of the series will be I Love Lucy Live on Stage (September 12-November 11), a stage musical adaptation of the longest-running television program in history. Then, Broadway in Chicago will present the pre-Broadway premiere of Kinky Boots (October), based on the film and featuring a musical score from Cyndi Lauper. The season will continue with the Broadway hit based on the movieSister Act (November 13-November 2).

For the holiday season, Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical (December 5-16) will have its Chicago premiere. Bijan Sheibani will direct the Tony Award-winning War Horse (December 18-January 5). The season will close with Cathy Rigby staring in Peter Pan (January 30-February 10). The creative team includes Patti Columbo (choreography), Keith Levenson (musical director), Michael Gilliam (lighting design), Julie Ferrin (sound design), and Sean Boyd (fight director).

The off-season’s productions will include Rock of Ages (June 5-August 5), Stuffed and Unstrung (June 12-17), Rain – A Tribute to the Beatles (June 26-July 1), and Les Miserable (November 14-December 2).
