David Schwimmer, Heidi Stillman, Mary Zimmerman Set for Lookingglass Theatre’s 2012-2013 Season

Lookingglass Theatre Company has announced its complete 2012-2013 season, which will open, as previously announced, with Mary Zimmerman’s adaptation of Ovid’s Metamrophoses, beginning performances September 19, in anticipation of a September 29 opening..

Also on the thaeter’s schedule is the Chicago premiere of Rajiv Joseph’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo. Heidi Stillman will direct this piece that centers on two U.S. marines and an Iraqi translator who are thrust into a world of gree, mystery and betrayal. The production is scheduled to begin performances on January 30 before officially opening on February 9.

In addition, Lookingglass will offer two piece there world premieres: Mary Dunford’s adaptation of Lisa Genova’s novel Still Alice, which centers on a professor who is at the peak of her career studying the human brain when her own mind begins to falter; and Keith Huff’s Big Lake Big City, a gritty modern noir that is also a lampoon of the Windy City, to be directed by David Schwimmer.
