Casting has been announced for the Broadway premiere of the new musical A Bronx Tale, beginning performances at the Longacre Theatre on Thursday, November 3. It will open December 1.

Under the direction of four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks and Oscar winner Robert De Niro, the show premiered in February 2016 at Paper Mill Playhouse. Based on Chazz Palminteri's acclaimed one-man show and subsequent 1993 film, A Bronx Tale is set against the backdrop of racial strife and organized crime in the 1960s as an Italian-American teenager must choose between the father who raised him and the mob-boss father figure who fascinates him.

The company will be led by Paper Mill cast members Nick Cordero as Sonny, Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, and Lucia Gianetta as Rosina. New to the principal company are Bobby Conte Thornton as Calogero, Ariana DeBose as Jane, and Bradley Gibson as Tyrone. Casting for the role of Young Calogero will be announced soon.

Featured in the ensemble are Gilbert L. Bailey II, Joe Barbara, Michael Barra, Jonathan Brody, Ted Brunetti, Brittany Conigatti, Kaleigh Cronin, Trista Dollison, David Michael Garry, Rory Max Kaplan, Dominic Nolfi, Christiani Pitts, Paul Salvatoriello, Joey Sorge, Cary David Tedder, Kirstin Tucker, Keith White, Michelle Aravena, Gerald Caesar, Charlie Marcus, Wonu Ogunfowora, and Joseph J. Simeone.

The production features a book by Palminteri, music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. The creative team also includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Howell Binkley (lighting design), Gareth Owen (sound design), Paul Huntley (hair and wig design), Anne Foard-Coates (makeup design), Robert Westley (fight coordinator), Jonathan Smith (musical director), Doug Besterman (orchestrations), and Ron Melrose (music supervision and arrangements). The show is produced by Tommy Mottola and the Dodgers with Tribeca Productions.
