With music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse, the show centers on the events in Nazi era Germany and Austria that led to the formation of the Von Trapp family singers.

In addition to previously announced stars Patrick Cassidy and Captain von Trapp and Sarah Pfisterer as Maria, the company will feature Susan Scannell as Elsa Schraeder, Rick Sherburne as Max Detweiller, Jenny Lynn Stewart as the Mother Abbes, Gillian Gordon as Liesl, and James Forbes Sheehan as Rolf.

The cast will also include Andrew Purdy as Friedrich, Isabelle Miller as Louisa, Troy Costa as Kurt, Victoria Blanchard as Brigitta, Natalie Hall as Marta; Emma Schaufus as Gretl, Linda Lodi as Frau Schmidt, Margaret Felice as Sister Berte, Angela Richardson as Sister Margaretta, Connell Benn as Sister Sophia, Brad Walters as Franz. Tim Lawton as Herr Zeller, and Jim Kopycinski as Admiral Von Schreiber.
