Danny Johnson and Demetria McKinney Scale Katori Hall's Mountaintop in Georgia

Jasmine Guy will direct Danny Johnson and Demetria McKinney in Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company's production of Katori Hall's The Mountaintop. The production runs November 13-December 16 at the Southwest Arts Center.

Hall's play, which won London's Olivier Award and was recently seen on Broadway, stars Johnson as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel and encounters a mysterious housekeeper (McKinney) with some surprising news.

Johnson's stage credits include Song of Jacob Zulu, Our Lady of 121st Street, Mis Evers' Boys, and many more. McKinney is best known for her performance as Janine Payne on the hit TBS sitcom Tyler Perry's House of Payne.
