James Bowen, Sean Blake, et al. Set for Richard Aellen’s Nobody at Alabama Shakespeare Festival

James Bowen will play Bert Williams and Sean Blake will play George Walker in Richard Aellen’s Nobody, running March 12-28, as part of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival‘s 2010 Provocative Premieres series. Tim Rhoze will direct the production.

Aellen’s play with music focuses on the lives of vaudevillians and black face performers Williams and Walker and uses music from the period.

Robert Ford’s time-bending The Fall of the House (April 9-25) will be the second offering in the Provocative Premieres series. Directed by Nancy Rominger, the play imagines that the life of writer Edgar Allan Poe becomes entwined with young African American woman’s in the 20th century.

Both companies will also feature Jonathan C. Kaplan, Erika LaVonn, Margaret Robinson, Angela K. Thomas, and Gerritt Vandermeer.
