Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman will participate in An Evening with Philip Seymour Hoffman, a moderated conversation at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, presented in partnership with the UCF, at PlayFest! on April 10. Jim Helsinger will lead the discussion.

Hoffman will discuss his film and theater career, which includes his Oscar-winning turn in Capote. The actor also received Academy Award nominations for his performances in Charlie Wilson’s War and Doubt. He directed and co-stars in a screen version of Bob Glaudini’s Jack Goes Boating, which was recently screened at Sundance and will be released at a future date.

Hoffman’s stage credits include Tony-nominated performances in Long Day’s Journey Into Night and True West. Hoffman is one of the founding members of LAByrinth Theater Company. His acting credits with the company include the premiere of Jack Goes Boating and, most recently, a production of Othello, co-produced with the Public Theater.

PlayFest! The Harriett Lake Festival of New Plays is a ten-day theater event which focuses on new plays and features readings, workshops, and a world premiere.
