About This Show

Written and performed by John Milosich and directed by Regie Cabico, The Race is a multimedia, autobiographical solo play. In this theatrical examination of race and racism, Milosich portrays himself and a host of characters that are at once hilarious and infuriating. John confronts his own racism, calls into question his position of racial and social privilege, and challenges the apathy and prejudice that characterized his racist upbringing. Follow his journey from Buffalo to Dubrovnik, his work in the classroom and dreams of South Africa. Witness a knock-down-drag-out fight with his father on the 4th of July. John’s presentation is daring and embarrassing – but above all, honest.
