Bus Howard is Brutus Jones in the American Century Theater’s production of The Emperor Jones, by Eugene O’Neill. The Emperor Jones is the brilliant expressionist play that brings to life the strange, but almost-true tale of the rise and fall of a Pullman porter who becomes a despotic island ruler. A famous and unusual and rarely performed work by one of the great American playwrights of the 20th Century. A tour de force, providing audiences with an evening they will not soon forget; with a dramatic rhythm all its own, along with “Little Formless Fears,” a witch doctor and a crocodile God. Ed Bishop directs.
