About This Show

Potomac Theatre Festival 2005 is an annual festival of political theater held at the Mainstage of the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts.

SCHEDULE

La Tragédie de Carmen (June 22 – July 17): Peter Brook, Jean-Claude Carriére, and Marius Constant’s adaption of Georges Bizet’s Carmen

Lovesong of the Electric Bear by Snoo Wilson: A fantastical play about Alan Turing, British codebreaker and father of the modern computer.

Somewhere in the Pacific (July 11 – August 7): Neal Bell’s play takes place on a cargo ship transporting sailors and marines to Japan during the final days of WWII.

The American Dream with One for the Road (July 11 – August 7): Edward Albee’s ‘happy’ tale celebrates the American family and the brass ring. Harold Pinter’s playlet takes place in an unnamed totalitarian state in which a torturer confronts a family of his victims.
