About the Show

Offenbach’s satirical opera (1858) was a scandalous hit at its Parisian premiere. Orpheus and Eurydice, married for years, both seek romance elsewhere. Pluto kidnaps Euridyce, and meddlesome Public Opinion persuades Orpheus to rescue her. Meanwhile the other gods want a piece of the action! Bacchus sorts things out with a final bacchanale and the famous Can-can. Our hilarious English book and lyrics by Kelley Rourke poke plenty of fun at our 21st century ways. Directed by Rick Davis and Joel Lazar.
