About the Show

Michael Kahn sits down with accomplished actress Phylicia Rashad to discuss her fruitful career on stage and screen. Known for her character Clair Huxtable on The Cosby Show, Rashad has made a name and history for herself on the stage. She became the first African-American actress to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. An award she won for her 2004 performance in a revival of the play A Raisin in the Sun. No stranger to the D.C. area, Rashad is a graduate of Howard University and has performed at Arena Stage. Her recent Broadway credits include August: Osage County, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Blue, Jelly’s Last Jam, Into the Woods, and Ain’t Supposed To Die A Natural Death. Off-Broadway credits include Lincoln Center’s productions of Cymbeline.
