Available Light

Signature Theatre will present the world premiere of Heather McDonald’s newest work AVAILABLE LIGHT: A Play with Music. Having just received The Kesselring Prize for playwriting, McDonald makes her Signature debut as both playwright and director. This production follows one boy’s struggle with his family and inner demons, leading to the crime of the 19th Century. With a witch for a mother and a father whose roughened hands embrace the violin, Pierre Riviere struggles to lift himself above the worldly constraints of a blood-stained vineyard. This show is made possible in part by a special project grant from The Paul Green Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
