About This Show

TUTS premiere production of Hair opens the 2004-2005 Season at Hobby Center. Philip Wm. McKinley, director of Broadway’s current hit musical The Boy From Oz, directs. Set in 1968 in a Greenwich Village park, Hair is a day in the life of a “flower-children” tribe. As societal problems and war loom, the Tribe finds enjoyment through friends, singing and of course – long, beautiful, shiny, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, down-to-there, shoulder length or longer – hair. This musical looks back at a more innocent time in America’s youth and has a vitality and meaning that outlives the late 1960’s and early 1970’s in America.

In keeping with the concept of the original production, Hair contains strong language and brief nudity.
