New York City
This powerful new play explores a young girl’s relationship with her older brother who has Down Syndrome. Cricket is a middle to high school aged girl who struggles with embarrassment and frustration concerning her older brother Tom. Tommy Tune, an elegant visualization of Tom’s inner self, dances in and out of the piece, allowing the audience to tap into Tom’s world. Though she loves her brother, Cricket is deeply embarrassed by him and doesn’t develop friendships easily for fear she will be “found out.” She desperately wants to “fix” her brother’s “problem,” and proposes an impossible science project to cure Down Syndrome.
